“Dedicated to enriching and supporting the lives of children by providing resources, communication and encouraging involvement in the school and community”
PALS are a friendly group of parents and teachers that organise fundraising events and activities for the school. We are always looking for new people to join our team, whether you can help at an event, help organise them, or provide the inspiration for new event ideas, we would love to have you on-board! Check out our PALS leaflet below or come along to our next meeting to see what it’s all about!
Upcoming Events for 2017
Summer Fete - Saturday 10th June 2017
Bag2School Collection Day - 21st June 2017
As well as funding much needed equipment and resources, we are now saving for a longer term project to replace some of the very tired looking play equipment around the school. Our target to reach this year is £10,000! Keep an eye on the totaliser in Reception so you can see how far we have reached after each event. We hope this will help to show that your contributions are very much needed and appreciated.
Fundraising and community events so far this year have been enjoyed by lots of the children, parents and wider community. Here's a round-up of past events and everything still to come this year:
Saturday 26th November 2016 - Christmas Craft Fayre: The children enjoyed a range of Christmas themed crafts, visiting stalls such as the popular chocolate tombola, buying gifts from our external sellers and meeting Father Christmas. The 2016 fair was the most profitable ever raising £2451, and an additional £600 in sponsorship associated with the event.
Friday 24th February 2017 19.30 - Quiz & Curry Night: Our first Quiz night for parents was a great success and raised £450!
Saturday 1st April 2017 - Easter Hunt: This was another success and over 200 children searched for clues around the school grounds in the sunshine, collecting a prize for cracking the code. This event raised £385!
Saturday 22nd April 2017 – Spring Clean Up: Parents and teachers came to school on a Saturday to lend a hand with gardening and spring cleaning the school grounds.
Friday 19th May 2017 - School Disco: We booked a "proper" DJ this year for the Discos and I'm sure some of you will know Colin quite well (he does the parties at The Willowbrook!). This added an element of fun as he included some games and a foam machine!
Saturday 10th June 2-5pm - Summer Fete: The theme for this year’s Fete is the Wild West. Join us for an afternoon of fun and see how long you can stay on the rodeo bull or the slippery pole, take aim at some of the teachers in the stocks, watch local clubs perform and have a drink and enjoy the BBQ in our saloon bar. Come along in Wild West themed fancy dress and join our parade! Remember to return your raffle tickets to the school office to be in with a chance of winning one of the fabulous prizes which have mostly been donated by local businesses.
Wednesday 21st June - Bag2School Collection Day: After a successful year of collecting old clothes and other items last year, we've booked another collection for the 21st June. Bags will be sent home soon.
As always, we'll be looking for parent helpers for all these events, so please do get in touch if you can help! firstname.lastname@example.org
Our next meeting at school is on Tuesday 27th June, 7.30pm. Please come along and join us!
My Name Tags You can now order a range of good quality name tags, and at the same time raise money for the school. Simply order online via www.nynametags.com and enter our School ID 23568. PALS will automatically receive 20% cashback on your order.
EasyFundraising Do you shop online? Do it through easyfundraising.org.uk and raise a free donation for Parents at Ladygrove School (PALS) PTA every time you shop! https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ladygroveschool/
APFS Christmas Card Project We started this in 2015 and it was fantastic so we will continue in 2016. The children design a Christmas Card in school and this can then be turned into cards or gift tags. The PTA will then receive a portion of each card pack purchased (and they are very reasonably priced cards!). See APFS for further details on how this works. Matched Funding If you work for an organisation that has a match funding policy, any money you raise could be matched by your employer. Companies may match the fundraising total for an event, or for the stall that their employee is working on. Usually, the employee will need to supply them with a letter from the PTA detailing the date and nature of the event, together with the total raised. If you are able to help us this way, please let us know and we can discuss your companies’ requirements.
If you would like to find out more about our PALS, how we fundraise, or if you have any ideas of your own, then you can contact us on email: email@example.com
