"Look up at the stars not down at your feet." Stephen Hawking (English physicist, cosmologist and author)
Welcome to Year 1
Term 5
Our enquiry question for the term is ‘How do we play in different ways?’ To explore this question, the children are going to be historians and mathematicians. We will be learning about games that have been played in the recent past and understand that games may have changed. To do this, the children will be learning about games like hopscotch and double dutch and comparing them with those that the children play today. This will accumulate in the children creating an information sheet about how to play a game.
As part of this enquiry, we would like to invite grandparents to record videos with them talking about the games that they played on the playground when they were in school. These will be shared with both classes. Please email the videos to the year 1 email address.
