"Look up at the stars not down at your feet." Stephen Hawking (English physicist, cosmologist and author)
Welcome to Year 1
Term 5
Our enquiry question for the term is ‘What grows near me?’ To explore this question, the children are going to be scientists, geographers, artists and engineers. We will be observing our local environment, naming and identifying wild and garden plants and learning about the basic structure of a plant. We will be thinking carefully about vegetables and fruits and preparing them safely so that they can be eaten. As artist, we will looking carefully at what they look like and making detailed observational drawings. As part of this enquiry, please can you send in photos of plants in your garden or that you see near your home, that the children are able to identify
and share with others.
